## Bekannte Probleme
https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/dsa/dsa-mini-tutorial
Webinterface gezeigt.
<img width="580" height="130" alt="image"

/>
zusenden lassen: https://config.berlin.freifunk.net/summary
bricken: https://selector.berlin.freifunk.net/
* Speicher die aktuelle Router-Konfiguration. Dies ist hilfreich falls
es zu Problemen beim Update kommt. Gehe hierzu im Webinterface auf
"System->Backup / Flash Firmware".
kannst einfach weitermachen. Sollte der Router betroffen sein siehst du
die Warnung. Entferne den Haken bei "Keep settings and retain the
current configuration".
mittels ```sysupgrade --force -n /tmp/image.bin``` flashen.

src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/8cba9844-006b-479b-a969-ceffbe889482"
/>

# Release Notes
Make sure to read the "Known Issues"
## Noteworthy Changes Since falter 1.5.1 and 1.6.0
* Based on OpenWrt-25.12.6
* migration changes and fixes
* updates to the build environment
* new OWM script writting in ucode
* removed dependecy in Luci on the ipk lua library
* All 8MB devices are no longer being built
* inclusion of a new statistics package in beta testing, viewable at
https://monitor.berlin.freifunk.net/grafana/d/pmjnx7v/node-stats-2-0beta
## Known Issues
### 8/64 Devices Dropped
Devices with 8 MB of flash memory are no longer being built, as they are
too small.
### DSA
In upstream OpenWrt, many routers have changed their core architecture
controlling physical ports on the back of the router. As a result, the
configuration of the old system is not compatible with the new system.
This means that unless the router is reconfigured from the beginning
again, it will not work and be bricked. The autoupdater will not
upgrade any router which has changed to DSA in this release. Upgrading
the firmware from the web interface will also give you a clear message
about the changes. For more technical information, see
https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/dsa/dsa-mini-tutorial
**Not all routers are affected in this release. Many more will be
affected with the upcoming releases, just like with OpenWrt.**
If you have a router which has switched to DSA, you will see this when
performing an upgrade in the web interface.
<img width="580" height="130" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/7d052977-0d43-43ac-80f6-2af4e06e4023"
/>
To upgrade a router which has moved to the DSA architecture, follow
these steps.
* Make sure you have your original IP addresses which you originally
used to set up your router. It is possible to have them resent to your
email address by filling out the form at
https://config.berlin.freifunk.net/summary
* Download the current image from the firmware selector at
https://selector.berlin.freifunk.net/ making sure you select the correct
model and version. Choosing the wrong image can brick your router.
* Save the router's configuration. In case you have any problems,
having a backup of your old configuration is helpful if you need help
from the community after flashing the image. To do this in the web
interface, go to "System->Backup / Flash Firmware". There you should
"Download backup" by clicking on the button "Generate archive". On the
command line, it's
```sysupgrade -b /tmp/backup.tar.gz```
Save /tmp/backup.tar.gz to your computer.
* Flash the new image. In the web interface, flashing an image is on the
same page as where you saved your backup file. The button is "Flash
image...". Next, upload the firmware image. If you do not see the
warning, your router is not affected and you can continue flashing. If
you router is affected, you will see the warning above. Uncheck the box
"Keep settings and retain the current configuration". Then check the
box "Force upgrade". On the command line, you need to transfer the
firmware image to the /tmp folder on your router and do
```sysupgrade --force -n /tmp/image.bin```
<img width="300" height="283" alt="image" align="center"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/8cba9844-006b-479b-a969-ceffbe889482"
/>
* After the router reboots, you will have to run the setup wizard again.
There will be a setup wireless network you can connect with, or you
can connect a cable to the router directly. The wizard can be found at
https://frei.funk/ or https://192.168.42.1/
