Wer nachschaut in der Wikipedia sieht, dass Datagram Protocol,
Transaction Protocol und WTLS Teile sind von WAP, es lohnt sich auch den
TCP-IP Artikel durchzuesen.
P.S.
anbei noch meine Screenshots, und lighttpd Konfiguration, ist doch
wirklich ein Wirelss-Thema, und Ausblick und echte Forschung dazu wäre
natürlich, wer es schafft z.B. die Manpages per WAP auszuiefern und
tatsächlich auf's Handy zu bringen damit.

Sucht man bei Wikipedia dagegen nach TCP IP, gibt es das:

Dort fällt auf, dass WAP ausgespart wird:

Obwohl das Protokoll heute durchaus noch angewendet wird, intern bei den
Mobilfunk-Diensten für MMS zuzm Beispiel. Die meisten denken sicherlich
_teuer_, und wer gibt bitteschön 50 Cent dafür aus, ein Foto mit dem
Handy zu verschicken, als Anhang zu einer Text-Nachricht??
Selber habe ich MMS durchaus fleißg genutz und kam mit Prepaid-Vertrag
auf eine Handy-Rechnung von insgesamt EUR 30 monatlich, wohl schon so
teuer wie einige premium Smartphone-Verträge über zwei Jahre...
Letzten Endes eine Frage der Philosphie, ob ein Bild eine kleine Gebühr
kosten darf, oder nicht, bzw. ein längerer Text, mehr als 5
SMS-Nachrichten in einer Reihe, und ob es dann vielleicht genauso sicher
und privat sein könnte, wie mit einer der gängigen Messenger-Apps...

Das hängt also mit der Debian-Policy zusammen, ist zwar installiert,
nach zwei System-Upgrades funktioniert es aber nicht mehr richtig, und
anstatt von sensible-browser kam immer Firefox, bzw. Iceweasel.
Für Epiphany kann man aliase machen, wie z.B.
"web openstreetmap.org"
oder
"web dhelp"
weil ist ein einfach dafür gut brauchbarer Browser.

Kleine Anmerkung noch, hatte einfach mal geschaut, was bei Bulls-Eye
Debian so alles gibt zum Thema WAP und IP-Telephonie, Torrent/DHT...
Was mir positiv aufgefallen ist bei Bulls-Eye ist jedenfalls, dass dhelp

Ist offenbar der günstigere Webserver, weil er weniger Ressourcen
verbraucht, und damit dhelp richtig funktioniert, muss man das fcgi
Modul aktivieren, nicht normales CGI.
Ergibt dann also ein gutes Doku-Lesesystem, info-pages sollten auch
möglich sein, ist vielleicht ein bisschen buggy...
